The HTC One X gets an excellent upgrade with their new HTC One X+. Although it has a similar aesthetic design as the original, the One X+ gets several new internal improvements that will surely be noticed.
On the outside, the phone has the same slick design with rounded corners and smooth edges. As with the older version, the micro USB port is located on the left side of the phone and the volume rocker on the right. The bottom bezel of the phone has the three touch sensitive Android buttons for back, home, and multi-tasking. It does not have a removable battery however which is a minor setback.
Speed is the biggest change on the phone. Its upgraded 1.7 GHz quad core processor will be able to handle anything you throw at it and its 64GB of internal memory makes it so you will most likely not be bothered by the phone’s lack of an SD card slot. As you might expect, this will end up taxing the battery more, but HTC solved this by installing a larger 2,100mAh battery. The One X+ experienced a software upgrade and is now running the newest Android OS, Version 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The camera and video interface performed faster thanks to the increased processing power of the One X+. HTC still includes the same 8MP front facing camera as the One X, which takes excellent shots even in low light. The rear facing camera did get an upgrade however with resolution improved to 1.6MP and is able to take noticeably better shots than its predecessor. It also takes HD video in 1080p quality.
Overall, the phone offers one of the best Android experiences around. Its processing speed is aided by AT&T’s 4G network making for a lightning fast combo. With enormous amount of internal storage, the One X+ will be more than sufficient for the majority of consumers.
