Instead of showing the plug-and-play capabilities they were trying to demonstrate, a \u201cBlue Screen of Death\u201d is visible by the entire audience which immediately erupts in laughter. After several seconds, Bill Gates famously responded, \u201cThat must be why we\u2019re not shipping Windows 98 yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, the assistant,\u00a0Chris Capossela, has moved up the executive ranks at Microsoft, <a href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&#038;u=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.seattlepi.com%2Fmicrosoft%2F2011%2F04%2F06%2Fchris-capossela-is-microsofts-new-chief-marketing-officer%2F\" target=\"_blank\">recently being promoted<\/a> to the position of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&#038;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.microsoft.com%2Fpresspass%2Fexec%2Fcapossela%2F\" target=\"_blank\">Senior Vice President, Consumer Channels and Central Marketing Group<\/a>.
