NEW ORLEANS \u2013<\/strong> For the third consecutive week, the University at Albany men\u2019s and women\u2019s outdoor track teams hold places in the NCAA Division I Regional rankings.\u00a0 The men held steady at seven in the Northeast poll, while the women dropped one spot to 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cornell maintained its commanding lead atop the men\u2019s poll, with Buffalo remaining a distant second.\u00a0 Syracuse dropped two spots from last week to five, and Connecticut took the vacant third spot.\u00a0 Harvard remained in fourth.\u00a0 The men\u2019s poll featured one newcomer, Iona, who jumped six spots to enter the poll at 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

Harvard reclaimed its top spot in the women\u2019s poll, overtaking Cornell, who dropped to third.\u00a0 Connecticut moved into second, while Buffalo remained in fourth.\u00a0 Dartmouth took fifth after jumping three spots from their position a week ago.\u00a0 UAlbany is no longer the sole America East representative in the women\u2019s poll, as Vermont jumped five spots to claim the 13th spot.<\/span><\/p>\n

The men claimed two new marks in the regional performance list.\u00a0 Alexander Bowen<\/a> improved his high jump to 7\u2019-0.5\u201d at the UAlbany Spring Classic over the weekend, giving him the best high jump mark in the Northeast.\u00a0 Nathan Hiett is now tied for fourth in the pole vault with teammate Alfonso Scannapieco<\/a>, matching Scannapieco\u2019s jump of 16\u2019-6.75\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The women featured one new mark to jump into the regional performance list.\u00a0 Sol\u00e8ne Bastien<\/a> recorded the seventh best triple jump in the Northeast, with a mark of 39\u2019-5\u201d at the UAlbany Spring Classic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Up next for the Danes is the Penn Relays, one of the biggest events on the calendar.\u00a0 The Relays run from Thursday, April 24 through Saturday, April 26.\u00a0 Athletes not competing at Penn will return to RPI for the Capital District Classic on April 26.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
