NEW ORLEANS \u2013<\/strong> The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its Week Four regional rankings Tuesday and once again both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s outdoor track programs at the University at Albany held spots in the Northeast regional poll.\u00a0 The men dropped a spot to eight from their spot a week ago, and the women held steady in the 10 spot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The top five in the men\u2019s poll remained unchanged, with Cornell continuing to hold a commanding lead over the remainder of the field.\u00a0 Buffalo, Connecticut, Harvard, and Syracuse rounded out the top five.\u00a0 Rhode Island was the biggest mover of the week in the men\u2019s poll, jumping five spots to sixth.\u00a0 Maine joined UAlbany in the poll as the only other America East team, coming in at 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

Harvard maintained the top spot in the women\u2019s poll, and the only change from last week in the top five was a swapping of positions between Dartmouth, who is now fourth, and Buffalo, who is now fifth.\u00a0 Vermont still accompanies UAlbany in the poll as the only other America East squad, dropping two spots to 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

The men continued to hold seven regionally-ranked performances.\u00a0 The only change was Alexander Bowen<\/a>, who improved his already region-leading high jump to 7\u2019-2.25\u201d in the championship section of the high jump at the Penn Relays.\u00a0 Silvia Del Fava<\/a> broke in to the regional performances with the fifth-fastest 10,000 from her fourth place effort at Penn Relays, finishing in 34:13.82, a new personal best and school record.\u00a0 Sol\u00e8ne Bastien<\/a> also took a spot, with the eighth-best triple jump in the Northeast, a 39\u2019-8\u201d effort at the Capital District Classic at RPI.<\/span><\/p>\n

Up next for UAlbany is the America East Outdoor Championships, which begin Saturday, May 3 at the University of Vermont.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
