A Step Up Athletic Symposium<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. \u2013<\/strong> UAlbany head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson<\/strong> will be speaking at the prestigious \u201cA Step Up 2014,\u201d an assistant coaches professional development symposium in Florida.<\/span><\/p>\n

She will be speaking on Sunday, May 4th<\/sup> at 8:30 a.m. to 60 assistant coaches from around the country at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina.\u00a0 This is the first time the three-time America East Coach of the Year and three-time conference champion at the University at Albany will be speaking at this symposium.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI like to be a teacher and empower people,\u201d said Abrahamson-Henderson. \u201cIf I can help one person, it is worth it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA Step Up\u201d was created by Felicia Hall-Allen, who runs a sports management company.\u00a0 She earned a law degree at the University of Iowa and was a college teammate of Abrahamson-Henderson, both playing under Hall of Fame coach C. Vivian Springer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The symposium will run from May 2-4 and will include an on-court skills development clinic and professional development classroom sessions.\u00a0 It was created to help assistant coaches network and learn new skills from others like them.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
