Rankings<\/a> \u01c0 By Event<\/a> \u01c0 By Team<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

NEW ORLEANS \u2013<\/strong> Once again, the University at Albany men\u2019s and women\u2019s track teams held spots in the Northeast Regional rankings, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Tuesday.\u00a0 Both teams held steady in the spots they held a week ago, with the men sitting in seventh place and the women in 10th.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cornell remained atop the men\u2019s poll, continuing to enjoy their commanding lead.\u00a0 Buffalo, who had held the second spot, dropped to third, and Harvard took second after jumping two spots from where they were a week ago.\u00a0 Connecticut dropped one place to fourth, and Syracuse rounded out the top five in fifth.\u00a0 Dartmouth saw the biggest jump among the men\u2019s teams, coming in at 11th, three spots higher than last week.<\/span><\/p>\n

The women\u2019s poll saw a lot of shuffling in the top five, with none of the teams repeating their spots from last week.\u00a0 Harvard reclaimed its spot at the top of the poll switching places once again with Connecticut, who was second.\u00a0 Dartmouth moved up three spots to third, and Cornell dropped one spot to fourth.\u00a0 Columbia jumped two spots to fifth, pushing Buffalo out of the top five.\u00a0 Yale improved more than any other women\u2019s team, jumping six spots to 11th.\u00a0 The Vermont women were the only other America East squad in either poll.<\/span><\/p>\n

The men\u2019s individual performance list had one new entry this week, in the 400 hurdles.\u00a0 Jeremiah Obeng-Agyapong<\/a> ran 52.14 at UAlbany\u2019s Purple & Gold Last Chance Meet over the weekend, a time that places him fourth in the event in the Northeast region.\u00a0 Robert Harris III\u2019s 100 of 10.59 is seventh, Alexander Bowen<\/a>\u2019s high jump of 7\u2019-2.25\u201d is second, Nathan Hiett\u2019s pole vault of 16\u2019-8.75 is fourth, Alfonso Scannapieco<\/a>\u2019s vault of 16\u2019-6.75\u201d is seventh, the 4\u00d7100 relay of 40.70 is fourth, and the 4\u00d7400 relay of 3:11.51 is sixth.<\/span><\/p>\n

The women\u2019s performance list had no new entries.\u00a0 Kathryn Fanning<\/a> is seventh in the 1,500 in 4:22.81, Tynelle Taylor-Chase<\/a> is sixth in the 400 hurdles in 59.70, and Aiyanna James<\/a> is fifth in the long jump in 19\u2019-4.25\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

IC4A and ECAC Championships are the next events on the schedule for UAlbany, beginning Friday, May 16 at Princeton University. \u00a0Many of the seniors will not make the trip, as the meet conflicts with their commencement ceremony.\u00a0 After this weekend, any athletes continuing to compete will have two weeks before NCAA East Regionals in Jacksonville, Florida, at the end of the month.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
