field athletes to the University of North Florida to compete in the NCAA East Preliminary Championships.\u00a0 Four of the six competed on Thursday, three in trial rounds and one in a final round.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c24\">Senior <a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&#038;u=http%3A%2F%2Fredirect.viglink.com%3Fkey%3D11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0%26amp%3Bu%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ualbanysports.com%252FViewArticle.dbml%253F%2526amp%253BATCLID%253D205086886%2526amp%253BDB_OEM_ID%253D15800\">Kathryn Fanning<\/a> highlighted the day for UAlbany in the women\u2019s 1,500.\u00a0 She placed 10th in the trial round, qualifying for NCAA Quarterfinals which will run on Saturday.\u00a0 Fanning, whose East Preliminary qualifying time of 4:22.81 had already broken her own school record, broke it again on Thursday, running 4:18.68.\u00a0 Twenty-four athletes will compete in the next round, with the top 12 advancing to NCAA Championships.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c24\">\u201cWe threw the time out the window and focused on being in position,\u201d said assistant coach <a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&#038;u=http%3A%2F%2Fredirect.viglink.com%3Fkey%3D11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0%26amp%3Bu%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ualbanysports.com%252FViewArticle.dbml%253F%2526amp%253BATCLID%253D1354955%2526amp%253BDB_OEM_ID%253D15800\">Matt Jones<\/a>.\u00a0 \u201cThe top five in each heat plus the next four fastest times qualified for the next round, so Kathryn went out looking to stay within the top five in her heat.\u00a0 It got away from her a little, but she finished strong in seventh in her heat, but was 10th overall, advancing on time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c24\">\u201cSaturday, we\u2019ll throw time out the window again and focus on racing people,\u201d Jones said.\u00a0 \u201cUsually it takes about 4:16 to qualify, which is out there, but possible.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c24\">Before Fanning ran, however, UAlbany fielded two athletes in the first two events of the day, the men\u2019s and women\u2019s 400 hurdles.\u00a0 Sophomore <a class=\"biolink\" href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&#038;u=http%3A%2F%2Fredirect.viglink.com%3Fkey%3D11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0%26amp%3Bu%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ualbanysports.com%252FViewArticle.dbml%253F%2526amp%253BATCLID%253D205680830%2526amp%253BDB_OEM_ID%253D15800\">Jeremiah Obeng-Agyapong<\/a> was the first UAlbany athlete to compete, placing 45th overall running 54.90.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c24\">\u201cJeremiah was on pace to run 51 but he fell at the eighth hurdle,\u201d said Director of Track &amp;
