Results<\/span><\/p>\n

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013<\/strong> The University at Albany athletes competing in the NCAA East Preliminary Championships did not see any of their teammates compete on Friday, day two of the meet, because no UAlbany athletes were entered in Friday events.\u00a0 Three of the six athletes who made the trip would compete on Saturday, the final day of competition.\u00a0 Senior Kathryn Fanning<\/a>, who ran the 1,500 on Thursday would compete in the next round of the event on Saturday, while junior Alexander Bowen<\/a> and freshman Nathan Hiett would compete in the men\u2019s high jump and pole vault, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, on Thursday, Jeremiah Obeng-Agyapong<\/a> and Tynelle Taylor-Chase<\/a> competed in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s 400 hurdles, failing to qualify for the next round.\u00a0 Silvia Del Fava<\/a> succumbed to misfortune in the women\u2019s 10,000, cramping up on the last lap, unable to finish her race.<\/span><\/p>\n

Misfortune continued Saturday for UAlbany\u2019s athletes.\u00a0 Hiett led off proceedings in the men\u2019s pole vault Saturday afternoon, but he failed to clear a height.\u00a0 Next up was Bowen, who finished in a tie for 14th place with a mark of 6\u2019-10.25\u201d, notably below his season best height of 7\u2019-2.25\u201d, which would have won the meet.\u00a0 Fanning was the last UAlbany athlete to compete, finishing 24th in the women\u2019s 1,500 in 4:41.99.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

None of UAlbany\u2019s six athletes who made the trip advanced to national championships.\u00a0 Without any qualifiers, UAlbany\u2019s 2013-14 track & field campaign finally comes to a close.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
