In the article, Moore predicts that transistor density on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Integrated_circuits\" target=\"_blank\">integrated circuits<\/a> will double every eighteen months for &#8220;at least&#8221; the next ten years. This theory will eventually come to be known as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moore%27s_Law\">Moore\u2019s law<\/a> and it still holds true to this day.
