The TV-B-Gone is pretty much what you would assume it would
\nbe based on its name.\u00a0 It is a universal
\nremote with a simple function: it turn TVs on or off. The TV-B-Gone comes preloaded with codes for almost every TV and is very easy to
\nuse.\u00a0 It has only one button and all you
\nhave to do is point the remote at the TV and press the button and then keep it
\npointed at the TV while the remote runs through all its codes. TVs that are off will come on and TVs that are
\non will turn off. This can take up to 69
\nseconds but the most popular brands of TVs will be affected within the first
\nfew seconds.<\/p>\n

When I first got this product my first impression was that I
\ndidn\u2019t really understand the practical purpose of it.\u00a0 It is supposed to be used to turn off
\nannoying TVs that are just serving as background noise and that nobody is actually
\npaying attention to anyway.\u00a0 After I
\nthought about this some more however I realized that it happens a lot in a
\nnormal day.\u00a0 There are TVs in
\nrestaurants, dining halls, bars, almost anywhere.\u00a0 And they can make having a simple
\nconversation with a friend who has half their mind on the TV and half their
\nmind on you quite difficult.<\/p>\n

I also realized the mayhem that this remote could
\ncause.\u00a0 All you need to do is walk into a
\nBest Buy or Target and there is no shortage of TVs to turn off.\u00a0 If you really want to cause some problems
\nthen you could take a remote to a sports bar and then see how mad sports fans
\nget if the TV goes off right before a game winning play.<\/p>\n

When testing this I found that it was fairly easy to conceal
\nin your hand.\u00a0 In a busy place it\u2019s not
\nthat hard to act inconspicuous while turning off TVs left and right.\u00a0 After all who would suspect that someone\u2019s
\nwalking around with a universal remote turning off TVs.\u00a0 I found that it usually took people a while
\nto even realize that the TVs had went off, depending if they were actually
\nwatching it or just tuning it out.\u00a0\u00a0 Like
\nwith any remote you have to be fairly close to the TV you want to turn off and
\nit works best when it\u2019s actually pointed at the TV.<\/p>\n

I found that the TV-B-Gone definitely has its useful times
\nbut you have to have it on you because you never know when the perfect opportunity
\nto use it will come up and since it can be put on your key chain this wasn\u2019t a
\nbig problem at all.\u00a0 Whether you\u2019re using
\nit to cause a ruckus or just to make having a simple conversation easier, it is
\na fun gadget to have.<\/p>\n
