The Metropolitan Vacuum Cleaner Company has broadened its
\nreach from a once standard vacuum manufacturer to supplying computer industry
\nproducts as well as automotive and pet grooming lines of vacuums and dryers at
\naffordable prices.<\/p>\n

At only 3lbs the Metro Vac MDV-1BA is perfect for quick
\nmesses and dust accumulation around delicate electronics and similar objects. The
\nflexible plastic tubing allows for a complete 360 degree clean up without
\nmaking an even bigger mess. The construction of the unit is great, with a solid
\nsteel black housing and detachable backing to replace the disposable bags. The
\nbags themselves although thin, are more than enough to tackle the accumulation
\nof light debris. Likewise, the replacements bags sell for around $8.00 for a
\npack of 5.<\/p>\n

The Metro Vac MDV-1BA\u2019s major set back, maybe its greatest
\nsuccess. The vacuum isn\u2019t the best for everyday messes around the far corners
\nof your house, but more than makes up for that with the strong performance of
\nits intended use. Its intended use being a great compliment to the office
\nenvironment for book shelving, spot clean ups on the floor and corners, office
\ndesk and chair, and all those delicate electronics that you may have invested
\nfar too much money into. Dust is an \u201cunbenounced\u201d killer when it comes to
\nelectronics such as desktop computers, laptops, speakers, and anything wired.
\nBut with proper care and routine cleaning they will surely outlive their shelf
\nlife.<\/p>\n

The attachments could really make or break the effectiveness
\nof the Metro Vac, and by no means did they disappoint. The vacuum comes
\nstandard with the large crevice tool perfect for bigger areas and the not so
\ndelicates. The soft bristle brush worked best on solid surfaces such as
\ncomputer housings and even the screen. However, to prevent dust and dirt from
\nfalling into the cracks the Powerizer and Air Maximizer snorkel probes shined
\nbest for the keyboard and for those who like to take apart their computers for
\neffective clean up jobs. I was dually impressed with the blower function, when
\ntrapping the dust had shown to be more than timely, the power of the blower
\nwith a small attachment proved to be what the job called for. Although after
\nlong use the vacuum began heating up, which is typical of most small canister
\nvacuums, it did not interfere at all with the clean up job. After the unit was
\nturned off it cooled down quickly. Another impressive feature of the vacuum is
\nthe toner filter system, which really brought this particular vacuum home. It
\nproved be extremely effective for picking up toner spills from office equipment
\nwithout damaging the equipment or the vacuum.<\/p>\n
