Originating as a company that specialized in high
\nperformance audio wires, Monster Cable has evolved into a competitive headphone
\nmanufacturer. Their lines of earphones are modern with a \u201cstreet edge\u201d that
\nprofessionals and consumers alike rejoice over. Continuing their innovative streak,
\nMonster Cable has unveiled the Monster Jamz and Lil\u2019 Jamz in-ear headphones.<\/p>\n

Monster Jamz and Lil\u2019 Jamz are constructed of a single,
\nsolid metal housing with a chrome finish. Consequently, the cast delivers sound
\nwith little resonance or vibration, remitting a \u201ccleaner\u201d accent. Likewise, the
\nsingle-billet housing and earpiece prevents the interference of ambient noise,
\nwhile limiting the leak of sound. Similar to other high end earphones, the Jamz
\nline uses passive noise cancelling as opposed to active, meaning lower production
\ncosts and ultimately sticker price. In addition, the housing of the Jamz
\nearphone adds some significant weight to the unit, while the Lil\u2019 Jamz to a
\nlesser extent; ergo they are not the best for an active lifestyle. On the other
\nhand, the chrome finish does strengthen the scratch and corrosion resistance. They
\nwere one of the first pair of earphones that I didn\u2019t actually have to worry
\nabout breaking, which is definitely a bonus.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the wire is reinforced with a thick \u201cstrain
\nrelief,\u201d complementing the construction of the ear set unit. Monster Cable
\ndelivers on the indestructible aspect of the earphones, as well as performance.
\nIn addition, Monster earphones are some of the only that are equipped with 24k
\ngold contacts. I am not sure if they make a huge difference in performance, as they
\ndo on cost and advertisement purposes. They promise maximum signal transfer,
\nbut regardless, it\u2019s nice to say that your earphones are constructed with gold.
\nFurthermore, the earpiece themselves are made of a soft rubber that fit for the
\nmost part, securely, keeping in mind the additional weight of the Jamz model.<\/p>\n

Both the Jamz and Lil\u2019 Jamz offer a boosted and clear sound.
\nThe first aspect to look for is how high you must turn the volume up to reach
\nthe desired sound; fortunately I didn\u2019t have to. Both models perform well with
\nvocals and treble, the only significant difference was the bass. Jamz
\noutperforms the Lil\u2019 Jamz model on the bass punch; if that\u2019s a major factor you
\nshould consider purchasing the Jamz unit. In addition, the earphones come with
\nan included protective case for added security.<\/p>\n

Because there isn\u2019t a significant difference in performance
\nand prefer the small housing of the Lil\u2019 Jamz, I would choose the Monster Cable
\nLil\u2019 Jamz. Lastly, the Jamz sell for around $120 while the Lil\u2019 Jamz sell for
\n$90.<\/p>\n
