The
\nSPK-VELO-001 wireless speakers offer the convenience of a fully integrated home
\nspeaker system into your backyard. With its weather resistant design, compact
\nstyle, and remote, you\u2019ll never have to leave the lawn chair again.<\/p>\n

The
\nSPK-VELO-001 comes standard with a 900 MHz transmitter to register streaming
\nsound waves up to 140 to 150 feet away. The audio signals are then broadcasted
\nthrough the speakers from a nearby computer or similar source. The distance
\nvaried significantly from indoor to outdoor use; the distance from source to
\ntransmitter nearly doubled when outside. The speaker boxes can also be put in
\ndifferent rooms and locations or wall mounted. Likewise, the 4x rubber feet on
\nthe bottom provides traction and protection for various surfaces. The
\ntransmitter itself is equipped with 2x transmission channels to sync with the
\ndesired broadcasted sound. The signal or channel can be changed easily, with a
\nswitch on the back of the units. The reproduced sound quality is fair to good,
\nespecially for the price and market grade. It takes some \u201ctinkering\u201d to match
\nthe volume level and transmitter distance to have the highest sound quality. I
\nwould suggest using an iPod or similar mp3 device to hook up directly to the
\ntransmitter. Overall the sound quality is more than you would expect from
\nindoor\/outdoor speakers with a 100 dollar price tag. Unfortunately you may
\nexperience some interference if your home is already ridding with wireless
\nsignals e.g. telephone, Bluetooth devices, internet, etc. The best way to
\nremedy the situation\u2026 place the speakers farther from the house or dispose of
\nthe wireless devices.<\/p>\n

Each
\nspeaker box comes equipped with its own AC power adapter and 6x C-size 1.5v
\nbattery compartment. If you want the speakers to be truly wireless you\u2019ll have
\nto shell out a bit more cash for the C-size batteries, which are relatively
\nexpensive. Likewise, the remote requires 2x AAA batteries. If you are planning
\non using these speakers daily I would recommend investing in some rechargeable
\nbatteries to save a significant amount of money. The blue LED on the front
\nsignifies full power and the yellow LED for standby mode. Unfortunately, the
\nremote doesn\u2019t power on\/off the unit but rather puts it in standby mode. To
\ncompletely shut off the unit each speaker is equipped with a power button,
\nwhich would need to be turned off. The remote works considerably well with
\ninfrared sensors on each speaker box.<\/p>\n

Overall,
\nthe Audio Unlimited SPK-VELO-001 wireless speakers with remote function just as
\nthey should; compact, portable, and with great sound. These speakers will
\nsurely keep the party going.<\/p>\n
