The LG Expo GW820 integrates a full range of multimedia
\ntools into the convenience of a smartphone. The full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth
\nconnection, optional projector, and both IM and MMS messaging lets this smartphone
\nlive up to its name as an \u201cexposition.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Expo is equipped with a large, 3.2-inch touch screen and
\nfull QWERTY keyboard. The screen has a 16 million color display, impressive 480
\nx 800, and an adequate response time. However, don\u2019t expect the responsiveness
\nof an iPod touch\/iPhone which has a capacitive screen rather than a resistive.
\nIt will take a little getting used to if you haven\u2019t used similar touch screen
\ndevices, but nothing time wouldn\u2019t correct. Likewise, the full slide out QWERTY
\nkeyboard is great with large print keys and hotkeys to access email and other
\nfeatures. The Expo is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor to unlock and
\ngain access as well as a scrolling tool to navigate through the menus. At most,
\nthe sensor feature is unnecessary and takes a couple tries for recognition. It
\nalso traps excess dust most likely contributing to its lack of functionality,
\nbut is optional and can be disabled.<\/p>\n

The GW820 runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 with Microsoft Office
\nand Internet Explorer Mobile. Internet Explorer is a little slow on the boot up
\ntime and maybe better off seeking alternative software. On the other hand,
\nWindows Office is great with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Windows Email. The
\nExpo itself runs on an impressive 1Ghz processor with Quad-band and HSPDA\/UMTS.
\nFurthermore, the smart phone comes with a slew of additional \u201cout of the box\u201d
\ntrial software and applications such as the WinMo Marketplace and similar
\napplications that utilize the Expo\u2019s WiFi. Overall the software is a bit
\nlacking in capabilities and you may need to seek replacement software. In
\naddition to the other features, the camera I found to be a pleasant surprise.
\nIt\u2019s a 5.0 megapixel camera with an auto flash and takes great pictures
\nrelative to other smart phones on the market. The 2.1 Bluetooth version uses
\nEDR, or Enhanced Data Rate to significantly improve the data transmissions
\nwhich becomes evident. Unfortunately, the battery life of the phone is a bit
\ndisappointing with a standard 1500mAh Lithium-Polymer.<\/p>\n

The LG Expo GW820 is an all around top notch smart phone
\nwith impressive features and the optional Texas Instruments Pico Projector
\nmakes this phone one everyone can enjoy. The Pico Projector is sold separately
\nfor around 179$.<\/p>\n
