Using the AppleLink online service,\u00a0Atlantis astronauts Shannon Lucid and James C. Adamson sent the following message:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Hello Earth! Greetings from the STS-43 Crew. This is the first AppleLink from space. Having a GREAT time, wish you were here,\u2026send cryo and RCS! Hasta la vista, baby,\u2026we\u2019ll be back!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The AppleLink software on the Macintosh was specially configured to connect to NASA\u2019s communication system which allowed the Shuttle to interface with Apple\u2019s proprietary network from space.
