NORTHRIDGE, Calif.\u00a0\u2013<\/strong> The University at Albany men\u2019s soccer team entered the second half against Cal State Northridge tied 0-0, but couldn\u2019t keep the momentum going and lost 3-0 on Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTim Allen<\/a> made some good saves,\u201d said head coach Trevor Gorman<\/a>. \u201cWe had a few good chances ourselves. With 20 players getting in the game and a scoreless first half we have a good starting point.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes had two opportunities to take the lead midway through the first half. Midfielder Anthony Rozzano<\/a> fired a shot from the top of the box in the 24th minute that required a diving save from Northridge goalkeeper Adam Hobbs. Five minutes later Martin Gorrie<\/a> hit the crossbar on a shot from just outside the 18.<\/span><\/p>\n

Junior goalkeeper Tim Allen<\/a> made five saves before leaving the match in the 54th minute. Freshman Eric Orologio<\/a> saw his first collegiate action for the final 36 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Matadors, who are receiving votes in the latest NSCAA Poll, scored all three of their goals in a span of less than 10 minutes in the second half. Two of Northridge\u2019s goals came on service attempts in front of the UAlbany net. The Matadors took a 6-0 advantage on corner kicks, with five in the second half.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes will look to rebound from their 0-1 start against Cal State Fullerton on Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
