U.S. Special Forces Member, UAlbany Lacrosse Alum Aaron Eleby Featured by Inside Lacrosse<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

After leading UAlbany to its first-ever America East title, Aaron Eleby has been serving as a member of the United States Special Forces in Afghanistan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Inside Lacrosse\u2019s Casey Vock did a heartwarming story on Eleby and a recent donation of lacrosse sticks to Eleby\u2019s Special Forces unit by UAlbany lacrosse alumni Cort and Blake Kim.\u00a0 The piece talked about Eleby\u2019s life from his days at Nazareth, transferring to UAlbany, trying out amd making the lacrosse team and how it turned his life around.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eleby played for Scott Marr\u2019s Great Danes near the start of the DI program at UAlbany, helping the team win the school\u2019s first America East lacrosse title in 2002.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter what nickname I hear about Special Forces guys, whether it\u2019s \u2018Green Berets\u2019 or \u2018SnakeEaters,\u2019 the one that always stood out to me was \u2018The Brotherhood,\u2019\u201d Eleby told Vock in the story. \u201cThe only other time I have felt a bond this close to anyone outside of my family was at UAlbany.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
