SCHENECHTADY, N.Y. \u2013<\/strong> The University at Albany men\u2019s soccer team fought to a 0-0 double overtime draw against Lehigh on Saturday night at the College Park Turf on the Union College campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe did a lot of good things and we created some dangerous chances,\u201d said head coach Trevor Gorman. \u201cUltimately we have to find the final moment; a shot or that pass that can get us the goal. But the overall team momentum was definitely something to build on.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes and Mountain Hawks remained deadlocked in the midfield for much of the game. The teams combined for just three shots in the first half.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAlbany picked up the intensity in the second half, with two scoring opportunities back to back. After a corner kick scramble in the 75th minute, senior captain Chris Nisser drilled a shot towards the net but it was blocked. Pomare Te Anau controlled the rebound just outside the 18-yard box and fired towards the top right corner of the goal, but hit the crossbar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Freshman goalkeeper Eric Orologio made a tough save late in the second overtime to preserve the tie. He entered the game for Tim Allen with ten minutes left in regulation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes held an 11-9 shot advantage and a 6-2 edge on corner kicks.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAlbany will face Iona in New Rochelle, N.Y., at 4 p.m., on Tuesday before returning to Union for a game against Bucknell at Frank Bailey Field on Friday, Sept. 13 at 8 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
