ALBANY, N.Y. –<\/strong> The UAlbany women\u2019s soccer team will take a two-game road trip this weekend, going against Canisius on Friday at 7 p.m. and Cornell on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes will look to end a four-game losing skid this weekend, coming off a 6-0 defeat to Hofstra at the College of St. Rose on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last season, UAlbany played both Canisius and Cornell at home, earning wins against both.\u00a0 The Great Danes held off a late three-goal surge from Canisius to win 4-3 on September 7th.\u00a0 Shayla Bergeron<\/a> earned five points in that game, including two goals.\u00a0 Two days later, the team earned a decisive 5-2 win over Cornell.\u00a0 Five different players earned goals for UAlbany, while Alana Brennan<\/a><\/strong> finished with nine saves.<\/span><\/p>\n

Standing at 1-5-1, Canisius has not won a game since August 25th against Youngstown State, going winless in its last five games.\u00a0 The Golden Griffins\u2019 game against UAlbany will be their first contest against a NY-based opponent.\u00a0 Over half the team\u2019s nine goals come from senior forward Brianna Smith, who has five goals.\u00a0 Senior middie Kelly McMahon is second in points with two goals and an assist.\u00a0 In goal, senior Megan Tock has a 74.5% save percentage and a 2.23 GAA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cornell currently stands at 1-1-1 after a road statemate to Buffalo and will face UAlbany after a Friday\u2019s home game against Marist.\u00a0 The team\u2019s only goal this season was scored by junior Kerry Schubert, with sophomore Caroline Growney and freshman Dempsey Banks having an assist.\u00a0 Senior Tori Christ is the primary goalkeeper, having a 1.37 GAA and three saves in a trio of games started.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
