Ten freshmen hail from the state of New York, with Massachusetts (1), New Jersey (1), Ontario (1) and Virginia (1) also represented in this year\u2019s group of newcomers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c25\">\u201cWe have a lot of new faces, as we have a great blend of athleticism and lacrosse IQ among our newbies,\u201d said head coach John Battaglino. \u201cOur newfound depth will give us will play six teams that appeared in the 2013 NCAA Tournament (Canisius, UConn, Loyola (Md.), Penn, Princeton, Syracuse) during Fall Ball play, including NCAA semifinalist Syracuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c25\">The Great Danes will face Holy Cross and the New York Athletic Club in their first fall competition on Saturday, Sept. 21 on the UAlbany campus. Following the NYAC game, UAlbany will play its annual Alumni Game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"c25\">UAlbany travels to Cambridge for the Harvard Melting Pot Tournament to face UConn, Brown and Harvard on Sunday, Sept. 29. The Great Danes remain on the road the next weekend for the Syracuse Play Day on Sunday, Oct. 6.
