Del Fava Named Women\u2019s XC Performer Of The Week<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. \u2013<\/strong> University at Albany junior Silvia Del Fava was named America East Women\u2019s Cross Country Performer of the Week for the week ending October 6.\u00a0 Del Fava led the Danes to a 23rd place finish at a team in Lehigh University\u2019s Paul Short Invitational over the weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

Del Fava placed 10th overall in a field of 406 athletes from 48 teams at Lehigh University\u2019s Paul Short Invitational.\u00a0 Her time of 20:40 represented a season and career best by over 2 minutes, as well as UAlbany\u2019s second fastest time ever for 6K.\u00a0 Only her teammate, Brittney Lane, has covered the 6K distance faster, when she ran 20:24 at Northeast Regional Championships a year ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

Del Fava is UAlbany\u2019s second athlete to be named Women\u2019s Performer of the Week, and third selection in as many races as the Danes have competed.\u00a0 Lane was awarded the honor in the first two meets of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

The men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams will enjoy next weekend off before competing in either the Pre-National Invitational or the UAlbany XC Invitational, both scheduled for October 19.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
