HAMILTON, N.Y.<\/strong> \u2013 Amanda Dolan<\/a><\/strong> tied a career-high in total blocks on Wednesday, but the Great Danes fell to Colgate in three (18-25, 20-25, 17-25) on the road.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In set one, Colgate (13-6) got four of the first five points, later going up 8-4.\u00a0<\/span> UAlbany (3-15) tied it up with a 4-0 run, including kills from Tatum Jungsten<\/a><\/strong> and Samantha Brostrom<\/a><\/strong> for an 8-8 game.\u00a0<\/span> After a Colgate point, a Jungsten kill started a 3-0 spurt to give the Great Danes an 11-9 lead.\u00a0<\/span> Colgate won three in a row following, which UAlbany countered with an Amy Hunter<\/a><\/strong> kill and Jungsten service ace.\u00a0<\/span> A 3-0 home team run put the Raiders back in the lead.\u00a0<\/span> The Great Danes got back to within one at 16-15, but Colgate took nine of the final 11 points for a 25-18 set win.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At 2-1 Colgate in the second game, a home team attack error and two Brostrom kills put UAlbany ahead 4-2.\u00a0<\/span> Using runs of 5-0, 3-0 and 5-0, Colgate pushed forward 15-6.\u00a0<\/span> UAlbany returned fire, using a Mikala McCauley<\/a><\/strong> dump kill to spark three consecutive points to pull within six 16-10.\u00a0<\/span> At 18-11, Lauren Spreen<\/a><\/strong> served UAlbany through a 4-0 run to get the visitors to down three 18-15.\u00a0<\/span> After a long exchange of points, three in a row off Brostrom\u2019s serving got UAlbany within two 22-20, but Colgate won the final three points to take the set 25-20.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A couple of early 3-0 runs by Colgate put the Raiders in front of set three 6-2.\u00a0<\/span> A Jungsten kill and Colgate attack error in succession made it 8-5 home team, but another duo of 3-0 runs put the Raiders ahead 14-6.\u00a0<\/span> Again Spreen had a long serving session, taking UAlbany through a 5-0 run to get the Great Danes to within three 16-13.\u00a0<\/span> But Colgate finished strong with nine of the final 13 points, getting set three 25-17 and winning the match in three.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dolan hit .429 in the match with six kills and a career-high five blocks.\u00a0<\/span> Brostrom also had six kills, while Viktoriia Stroilo<\/a><\/strong> finished with a team-best 17 digs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diane Seely led the Raiders with 14 kills and four blocks, while Kenzie Hume had 11 kills and two blocks.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAlbany returns to conference play on Friday, hosting UMass Lowell at the University Gym at 7 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n
