The
\nPhilips PT902 9\u201d LCD Portable TV definitely has its uses.\u00a0 You can use it at tailgate parties so you can
\nsee what\u2019s going on inside the stadium, bring it to work to use on your break,
\nor just to have as a backup in case you need to watch a show while you\u2019re
\nmoving around the house or if your main TV is already taken.\u00a0 It is very slim and easy to bring
\naround.\u00a0 It\u2019s about 1 inch thick, 9 inches
\nhigh, and 7 inches wide and weighs a little less than a pound and a half.\u00a0 I liked the 9\u2019 in LCD screen because it
\nallowed Philips to decrease on the thickness of the TV and maintain good
\npicture quality with 600×220 resolution.<\/p>\n

\n

The
\nPhilips comes with a detachable DTV\/FM antenna so you can use it to watch over
\nthe air TV or listen to your favorite FM station.\u00a0 You can also take the antenna completely off
\nand instead connect the TV to a rooftop antenna or digital cable when you\u2019re at
\nhome.\u00a0 It has a headphone jack so you can
\nuse headphones to conserve battery and not disturb anyone with your TV shows or
\nyou can hook it up to a speaker system to get better sound.<\/p>\n

The TV has a DTV receiver so its picture quality of over
\nthe air television is good as long as there is reception because with DTV its
\neither you have a good enough signal to get the entire picture or nothing.\u00a0 There\u2019s almost never static.\u00a0 It can be difficult because you have to make
\nsure that the place where you want to use it has a relatively strong signal.\u00a0 At home this shouldn\u2019t be a problem because
\nyou can disconnect the TV antenna and hook it up to your homes rooftop antenna
\nor an unencrypted cable jack and the Philips will be able to use that to get
\nits signal.\u00a0 Reception also usually isn\u2019t
\na problem in big cities where TV broadcasts often originate so if you\u2019re going
\nto be using it tailgating at football games you should be ok, but if you go out
\nto someplace far from the source of the signal you could have trouble finding
\nreception or not get any at all.\u00a0 And the
\ngood thing about this TV is that since it has a radio receiver you always have
\nthe radio to fall back on if there\u2019s no TV reception.<\/p>\n

Another good thing about the Philips portable TV is that it has a built in
\nrechargeable battery.\u00a0 The company says
\nthat it will last for 3 hours but a more realistic estimate if you were
\nwatching normally would be about 2 \u00bd.
\nWith the battery you aren\u2019t restricted to a wall or car outlet and can
\nbring your entertainment with you wherever you want.<\/p>\n

What I
\nwas disappointed with was that it didn\u2019t have any A\/V connection jacks so if
\nyou wanted to hook it up to a VCR or DVD player; you have to use coaxial cable
\nfrom the TV and have to be sure that your DVD or VCR had a coaxial jack which
\nis inconvenient if you already have players to use with the TV and they don\u2019t
\nhave coaxial jacks.<\/p>\n

\n

Overall the Philips PT902 is convenient to have. Its price is about $130 which is a reasonable
\nprice for the TV considering its screen size and features. Its battery allows it to be taken anywhere and
\nits large screen makes watching TV easy.
\nThe only downsides were that it didn\u2019t have A\/V connections.\u00a0 It is up to consumers whether this will be a
\ndeal breaker or not.<\/p>\n
