ALBANY, N.Y. –<\/strong> UAlbany will finish the 2013 season this week, hosting a pair of conference foes at Bob Ford Field.\u00a0 The Great Danes will take on Maine on Thursday at 7 p.m. then end the year with a Sunday 1 p.m. matinee against conference newcomer UMass Lowell.<\/span><\/p>\n

The UAlbany seniors, Dani Britt<\/a><\/strong> and Aubrey VanGorder<\/a><\/strong>, will play their last game for the Great Danes on Sunday.\u00a0 Each spent the last four years with the team and will be honored during a pregame ceremony at the UMass Lowell game on the field.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tickets for each game are $ 7 for general admission and $ 2 for children 12 and under and senior 65 and over.\u00a0 All students, faculty and staff can enter for free with a University ID.\u00a0 In addition, each game will be aired on AmericaEast.tv.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes are coming off a double overtime defeat to Vermont last Thursday.\u00a0 Krista Fitzpatrick<\/a><\/strong> scored on a long range goal deflected off a defender to tie the game against Vermont, but in double overtime, Amanda Moschella scored at the top of net to give the Catamounts a 2-1 victory.\u00a0 Fitzpatrick and Moschella each scored their first goal of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an October 18th, 2012 game which saw four goals scored in a span of two minutes, UAlbany came back from down two goals at the half to earn a 3-3 draw at Maine.\u00a0 Chelsea DeVerna<\/a>\u2019s goal in the 56th minute was the equalizer in the game.\u00a0 UAlbany\u2019s last game against UMass Lowell was in the Division II ranks in 1998, with the River Hawks edging the Great Danes 2-1 in overtime.\u00a0 In Division I, the Great Danes are 2-9-1 all-time vs. Maine and will play their first game against UMass Lowell.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maine stands second in the America East with 13 points having gone\u00a0 4-1-1 in its last six games, all in-conference.\u00a0 The Black Bears sport 13 players from Canada, including sophomore Eve L\u2019Abee, the leading scorer with three goals and two assists.\u00a0 Sophomore middie Charlene Achille and junior forward Jordan Pellerin each have three goals.\u00a0 In goal stands sophomore Lauren Swant, who has a 0.81 GAA and 82.1% save percentage.<\/span><\/p>\n

UMass Lowell is coming off its first DI victory over UMBC and is in eighth place in the league.\u00a0 Freshman forward Taylor Packwood has a team-best three goals, while senior back Sarah Raye and junior forward Brittany Russo each have a pair of goals.\u00a0 Starting the last seven games in goal is junior Jane Hatzikonstantis, who sports a 2.08 GAA and 78.3% save percentage.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
