ALBANY, N.Y..-<\/strong> University at Albany men\u2019s soccer (4-9-4, 2-2-1 AE) concluded its nonconference schedule with a 0-0 tie against Hartwick on Monday night at Bob Ford Field.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI thought we had some good moments tonight, some good possessions,\u201d said head coach Trevor Gorman<\/a>. \u201cWe had good combination play amongst our team, we just couldn\u2019t quite take advantage. It\u2019s something to build on for Saturday. We were fortunate to get a lot of guys in the game tonight, it\u2019s just tough to not come away with the win.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The teams combined for just five shots in the first half, with UAlbany earning the lone corner kick in the opening period.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shot attempts picked up for the Purple & Gold mid-way through the first half. Dan Christiansen made a cross from the right side in the 22nd minute, nearly connecting with Jonathan Interiano<\/a> for the header.<\/span><\/p>\n

A corner kick from Philip Persson<\/a> found Brandon Wilson<\/a>\u2019s head in the 29th minute, with the deflection rolling out to Leonardo Rodrigues. Rodrigues fired a shot just wide.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes continued to pound the Hartwick net early in the second half. Anthony Rozzano<\/a> broke through the Hawks midfield to fire a shot that hit the post in the 57th minute. Dominic McGarr<\/a> nearly connected on a free kick in the 63rd minute.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michael Pizzuti<\/a> made several crucial saves toward the end of regulation. Pizzuti came out of the net to stop a Hartwick midfielder charging through the 18-yard box in the 74th minute. The freshman also got a hand on a dangerous header off a corner kick for the Hawks with eight minutes remaining in regulation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brandon Wilson<\/a> fired a line drive from the left side of the 18-yard box with less than five minutes remaining, but the Hartwick goalkeeper controlled the shot and made the save.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the first overtime period, Rozzano and Interiano had chances in the 18-yard box, but couldn\u2019t quite bury the ball in the back of the net.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 0-0 tie against the Hawks marks UAlbany\u2019s seventh overtime contest of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes return to action in an important America East game on Saturday at 7 p.m., against Hartford at Bob Ford Field. The Purple & Gold will also honor their seniors against the Hawks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
