The evolution of the Smartphone has created a device that is essential in many people\u2019s life.\u00a0 With this reliance however comes risk.\u00a0 If your phone breaks or is damaged you become almost helpless in the world.\u00a0 This is especially true if you rely on your Smartphone to manage emails and calendars.\u00a0 With the Otterbox Defender Series for the Droid Pro, you get the best protection money can buy and the best odds to avoid this situation.<\/p>\n

The Otterbox protects the Droid with a combination hard case with a soft silicone outer shell.\u00a0 The shell fits tightly around the hard case and does an extremely good job with protecting the phone during falls by acting as a shock absorber.\u00a0 Otterbox uses this technique on several of their other cases also.\u00a0 The silicone shell\u2019s construction covers the volume, power, and shortcut buttons on the side of the phone which helps keep dirt and dust out of the phone.\u00a0 Even though these buttons were covered, there was no reduction in their functionality.<\/p>\n

To protect the Droid\u2019s touch screen, the Otterbox employs a screen protector.\u00a0 My favorite part about this was that unlike other screen protectors which stick to phone screens, the Otterbox\u2019s screen protector slides into place over the screen and is held in place by the case.\u00a0 Even with the screen protector on, the touch screen on the Pro works as good as ever.<\/p>\n

The third part of the Defender case is the optional belt holster.\u00a0 The belt holster clips onto your belt using a rotatable clip.\u00a0 With the phone clipped on your belt you can rotate the phone to a comfortable position depending on your preferences. \u00a0The belt holster also doubles as a viewing stand for if you want to watch movies or TV shows on your phone.\u00a0 The belt clip locks into place allowing you to prop up your phone without having to hold it in your hand.<\/p>\n

The only real downside to the Otterbox was its price.\u00a0 At $49.95 from the Otterbox website it is easily one of the more expensive cases on the market.\u00a0 If you\u2019re able to make the investment however, it may end up paying for itself when it saves your phone from destruction.<\/p>\n
