ALBANY, N.Y. \u2013<\/strong> The UAlbany women\u2019s basketball team has elected its team captains for the 2013-14 season, choosing <\/a>Sarah Royals<\/a>, <\/a>Margarita Rosario<\/a><\/strong> and Shereesha Richards<\/a><\/strong> to lead the squad this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

All three players were unanimous choices by the players to be team captains.<\/span><\/p>\n

Royals, the team\u2019s lone returning starter from last season, serves as the primary point guard.\u00a0 The junior floor general led the team in assists with 115, averaging 4.6 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Richards was the conference\u2019s Co-Rookie of the Year last season and was named to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team for this year.\u00a0 The versatile sophomore scored 10.2 points and 5.9 boards a game, totaling 65 steals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rosario played in all 31 games last season, primarily as a key reserve.\u00a0 The junior guard finished the 2012-13 season with 68 points, 63 assists and 50 rebounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

The captains will lead the team against arch-rival Siena on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Times Union Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
