HANOVER, N.H.<\/strong> \u2013 Continuing its best start in DI history, UAlbany heads north to Hanover, New Hampshire to take on Dartmouth on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Leede Arena.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAlbany comes into Wednesday at 6-0, the only undefeated team in the American East, after a 70-60 road victory over Big East opponent Providence just before Thanksgiving.\u00a0 Ivy League member Dartmouth fell to American 77-54 in Washington D.C. on Sunday for its third-straight defeat, standing at 1-4 overall.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Danes defeated Dartmouth in Albany 62-49 last season in the first game between the two since 2000.\u00a0 Dartmouth leads the overall series 2-1 with wins in 1999 and 2000.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tickets for the game are $ 7 for general admission and $ 8 for chairbacks.\u00a0 Youth ages three thru 14 may get general admission tickets for $ 4.\u00a0 Tickets are available for purchase through Dartmouth\u2019s athletic web site or at the Dartmouth ticket office.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAlbany has started the season winning its first six, making this year the best start in the school\u2019s D-I history.\u00a0 It surpasses the beginning of the 2010-11 season, where UAlbany won its first five before its first defeat.\u00a0 The best start in program history came during the 1991-92 season, when the Great Danes won their first 10 games.\u00a0 Playing as an independent, UAlbany started 16-1, finishing 22-5 on the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The win over Providence keeps UAlbany as an undefeated team, one of 23 women\u2019s basketball teams left without a defeat this season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shereesha Richards<\/a><\/strong> comes into this contest leading the America East with 22.5 points and 9.5 rebounds a contest plus a 66.7% field goal percentage.\u00a0 Sarah Royals<\/a><\/strong> is sixth in the conference with 14.4 points a game, adding a league-best 5.3 assists per contest, while Margarita Rosario<\/a><\/strong> joined the top-20 in the conference in both points and assists per game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dartmouth was predicted to finish fifth in the Ivy League after going 6-22 last season.\u00a0 This is the program\u2019s second year under head coach Belle Koclanes after 28 years under Chris Wielgus.\u00a0 Dartmouth\u2019s lone win on the year came at home, a 66-62 win over America East opponent Vermont.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Big Green is led by freshman Fanni Szabo, a member of the Hungarian U20 Team.\u00a0 The 6-1 freshman is averaging 19.2 points a game, shooting 33.3% for three.\u00a0 Junior guard Kamala Thompson is leading the team in rebounding primarily off the bench with 7.8 boards a contest, adding four points a game.\u00a0 Main point guard and senior co-captain Nicola Zimmer is averaging 9.3 points and 3.7 assists a game, but has not played the last two games due to illness.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
