DURHAM, N.H.<\/strong> \u2013 The Great Danes have a chance to lock up the 1-seed in the upcoming America East Tournament on Wednesday, February 26, heading north to play UNH at the Lundholm Gym at 7 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAlbany claimed a share of the America East regular season title with a 86-35 home victory over Binghamton last Wednesday for its 15th-consecutive win, standing at 24-3 overall and 14-0 in the conference.\u00a0 UNH is in second place in the conference at 12-2 and can also claim a share of the regular season title if it wins out and UAlbany falls in its last two.\u00a0 Coming off a 78-71 win over UMass Lowell for its fourth-straight, UNH stands 18-9 overall.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAlbany has been second to none in the America East the last three years, winning its last 37 conference games, the longest current conference winning streak in Division I and tied for the longest in America East history, matching Maine\u2019s streak of 37-straight from 1995 to 1997.\u00a0\u00a0 Its last league loss came January 28th, 2012, a 62-55 loss to Hartford.<\/span><\/p>\n

With UAlbany\u2019s win over UNH 88-47 on January 23, the all-time series is tied at 14-14.\u00a0 UAlbany has won the last six contests, including it last year\u2019s America East Tournament semifinals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shereesha Richards<\/a><\/strong> leads the conference with 20.8 points a game, scoring double digits in 26 games.\u00a0 Megan Craig<\/a><\/strong>, including 125 points combined her last seven games, has risen to seventh in the conference at 12.6 points a contest. Sarah Royals<\/a><\/strong> is averaging 11.6 points a contest to stand 12th in the league.\u00a0 UAlbany is #1 in the America East in numerous categories, including scoring with 72.9 points a game, scoring margin at +18.1 and field goal percentage at 47.8%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Led by the second-best scoring defense in the America East, including the top three-point scoring defense in the conference, New Hampshire is in the middle of the three-game homestand and has won all six league home games thus far this season.\u00a0 The Wildcats have a pair of players ranked in the top-10 in scoring in the America East: In the post, junior forward Corinne Coia averages 12.2 points and 5.9 rebounds a game, while senior guard and team captain Kelsey Hogan gets 12 points and 3.2 assists a game and stands as a member of the 1,000-point club.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
