Women\u2019s Tennis Drops Two at Princeton<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

NEWARK, N.J<\/strong>. \u2013 The University at Albany women\u2019s tennis team (5-5) dropped matches against Princeton and Seton Hall over the weekend.\u00a0 The Great Danes now stand at 5-5 on the season and have lost three straight matches.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the first match, Princeton (8-3) swept UAlbany 7-0.\u00a0 It was the first meeting between the two schools, and Princeton has now extended its winning streak to five.<\/span><\/p>\n

UAlbany\u2019s second match was closer, but the Great Danes succumbed to Seton Hall 4-3.\u00a0 The Pirates (5-4) won four of six singles matches to clinch victory.\u00a0 UAlbany doubles teams of Cheryl Kukkonen<\/a> and Alba Sala<\/a> (8-4), and Mireille Hermans<\/a> and Paulina Torres<\/a> (8-2) won their doubles matches.\u00a0 UAlbany earned singles victories on wins by Torres (7-5, 6-2) and Sala (6-1, 6-2).<\/span><\/p>\n

Next weekend, UAlbany will host Fordam on Saturday, March 8 at 12:30 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n
