Snow Named Softball Rookie Of The Week<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

America East Release<\/span><\/p>\n

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. \u2013<\/strong> For the second time this season, freshman catcher Elizabeth Snow<\/a> has been named America East Softball Rookie of the Week by the conference offices.\u00a0 Snow previously won in Week 2, way back on February 25, for her efforts during the opening preseason tournament, the Citrus Classic.\u00a0 This week, she shares the award with UMBC\u2019s Danielle O\u2019Neill, who was named Player of the Week, and Co-Pitchers of the Week Alexis Bogdanovich from Maine and Allison Cukrov from Stony Brook.<\/span><\/p>\n

The University at Albany played seven games last week.\u00a0 Snow started all seven at catcher.\u00a0 She ended the week batting .364 (8-22) with four runs scores, one double, two RBIs, three walks and one strikeout. \u00a0Her best game at the plate came against Hartford, in the second game of the opening doubleheader.\u00a0 Snow hit 1-3 with a walk and scored three runs, helping UAlbany defeat the Hawks 11-1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Snow\u2019s second award is also UAlbany\u2019s fourth for the season so far.\u00a0 Vicky McFarland<\/a> was named Week 4 Player of the Week, and Brittany MacFawn<\/a> was named Week 7 Pitcher of the Week.\u00a0 UAlbany plays a doubleheader at Cornell on Wednesday, April 16 starting at 3:00 p.m.\u00a0 \u00a0The Colgate doubleheader, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed until Tuesday, April 22.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
