OtterBox is known for making some of the most protective cases around. The company’s new Defender Series Case for iPad 2 has not strayed from this formula, making another bomb proof case. This heavy duty case includes multiple components made of polycarbonate and silicon materials. The inner polycarbonate shell will totally protect the back of the iPad from scratches. The silicone outside absorbs any shock that could come to the inner shell. This dual layer design makes it near impossible to injure your device with this case on. The case includes a clip on cover that also doubles as a stand, should you ever need one. The cover snaps easily onto both sides of the case for easy use. Snap it on the front to protect the screen while you are on the go or move it to the back of the case for storage when not in use. It functions really well in both the horizontal and vertical positions when viewing and makes horizontal typing a joy. You can still use all features of the iPad 2 through this case. Absolutely nothing is compromised. There were two problems I encountered with this case. First was with the headphone port cover, it easily comes undone and the headphone port never stays flush. Second it doesn’t work with the iPad2 Dock.
Even with these minor issues it is still a well built solid case. I highly recommend this case to anyone who wants some serious protection for your investment. There’s no case out there that’ll do it better than this one. While there are others that have more style, cases ultimately are about protection and no other comes close to this.
