Grado Labs recently redesigned their SR225 headphones and improved their quality and the result is the SR225i series. They provide excellent sound quality for a great listening experience, but there were a few minute details in the design that posed problems for the user looking for portability.
The headphones give you detailed sound, bringing out aspects of music you may have never noticed before. The over the ear design also helps to block out unwanted noise while the headphones sit comfortably on your head. This makes them great for serious listeners, but its size poses problems if you’re moving around a lot. Another issue was its 6.3 mm headphone jack which requires you to buy an adapter if you ever want to listen on your computer or iPod. This isn’t too problematic if you’re not trying to use the headphones on the go, but if you are, it ends up being one extra thing to remember and carry around with you.
While the SR225i headphones weren’t made to be brought with you everywhere you go, most users have a 10 dollar pair of headphones for that. In the end the headphones were wonderful to use and their sound quality will satisfy even the most intense listeners. Grado Labs has a long reputation for quality audio products and the SR225i is no exception to this trend.
